A Tail's Tale is a beautiful, playful
children's story written by Australian children's author Rob Daniel,
with gorgeous illustrations by
English artist Elizabeth
Stringer.
Fluff's tail grows while Fluff
is asleep in his kennel. It twists and turns and goes off on adventures
of its own.
Before Fluff is even old
enough to know how to control a normal tail, his tale is causing
trouble up and down the street, chasing the cat, stealing sausages and
turning the next door neighbour's house upside-down..
While
Fluff is still sound
asleep in his kennel, his tail has a chance to become a hero for once;
and discover a most unlikely
friend.
If your children love naughty puppies, swishy tails that
seem to have a life of their own and
the thought of
making a big mess in the kitchen gets them all excited, they are going
to love A
Tail's Tale.
"Thank
you for sending the
book. It is really beautiful. I did the reading with the help of my
7-year-old and my 3-year-old loved it. They argued over who would click
to turn the page!! They love anything to do with the computer and, as I
don't really let them on it much, they were very excited. They enjoyed
the story and particularly enjoyed the illustrations which they laughed
at. I think it's a bonus that it can be printed too and it is not
restricted to the computer. I am sure you are going to have a great
success with it and I wish you all the best." Paula UK
"A delightful story about a
puppy called Fluff, whose cheeky tail gets him into trouble over some
sausages. However this story has a happy ending and all becomes good.
This has the real feel of a book with pages that curl as they turn. The
pictures add to the magic of this tale and children of all ages will
love the cute and lovable characters. The children in my class loved
it" Kathryn Cawley, Primary
School Teacher, UK
E-books have to be THE
fastest, easiest way for busy parents to buy stories for children.
No queuing up in shops, no
having postage to pay for books ordered from catalogues and definitely
no dates to remember for library book returns (to avoid hefty fines
costing more than the books are worth).
And when you buy them... wow,
they stay new! You don't find them all dog-eared with pages ripped out,
at the bottom of the toy box or stashed under the bed, scribbled on and
chewed up by the escapee hamster two days later.
Children love using computers
and e-books are an excellent complimentary reading resource.
Tail's Tale is in a very
special e-book format. The pages actually curl as they turn, just like
a real book. It is fully illustrated throughout by English artist
Elizabeth (Little Liz) Stringer and written by Australian children’s
author Rob Daniel. This is a wonderful, lively, entertaining story
children will want to read over and over again.
An artist who lives in
Warrington in the UK illustrated a Tail’s Tale.
It seems ironic that just
after completing the illustrations for A Tail's Tale, she went out and
bought a puppy!
Fluff and friends started
life as little drawings in a sketchpad. Slowly, taking care to keep
the feel of the story, the characters were worked on and evolved,
(collaboration and to-ing and fro-ing of ideas between author and
artist, who live on opposite sides of the world) the illustrations
eventually took shape into the characters they are now.
Originally Tail didn’t have a
face! The finished illustrations were done in a combination of
watercolour, coloured pencil and pens. A strange choice perhaps but
they seemed to achieve the right effect for the story.
Elizabeth, the artist, is
currently working on illustrations for another book as well as many
other projects. You can see more of her artwork at
